I'm just considering solo output.

Tree's and Psychic <3's both sound ok, but at the same time seem to be lacking something. Basically, they sound like Youth albums missing Kim + Lee (+ sometimes Steve).

Lee solo is ALWAYS badass.

Yeah, to chime with others, I think it would be more like a poll that has Richard Lloyd without Tom Verlaine.

Though Thurston is awesome on so many levels, Lee really does destroy him in terms of guitar-playing.

The thing that's always gotten me about Thurston is his encyclopedia-like knowledge when it comes to all things music. I could listen to him talk about it for hours. Sometimes I think he gets mixed up on time frames a bit, but hes not twenty anymore, either.

Thurston is cool.

I'd just rather listen to Lee play guitar.

Wish Thurston would write a book. Not just a collection of scrap poetry through the years thrown together, not just an introduction to someone else's work...but an actual book. The guy can be quite brilliant when it comes to stringing words together.

Like I've said, some of the choices are painfully dubious, clearly representing the personal tastes of 6Music staff. It would've been much better if people simply posted their own choices. I suspect that was optioned, but the 6Music staff wasn't keen, no doubt putting their bloated egos and overopinionations before freedom of choice.

That's exactly why I like Thurston; his knowledge of music. Naturally, being a history major, I like Thurston a lot because he is a historian too, whether he knows it or not.

But yeah, in terms of guitar-playing, I prefer Lee way more. But put Lee and T together and they are amzing.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Keeping It Simple again.
