It's an addictive pop song, the battles one, with almost 80ies vibes.
I really don't give a fuck about underground-mainstream etc, if a song is good is good, even if they use it in hemmoroid creams ads.

haven't heard either. Haven't heard any of the songs on the cd actually. I'd like to hear the Beck track. His new Record Club album of KICK is excellent. Excellent!

i can't imagine any of that music fitting into the film very well, wouldn't Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber be more appropriate?

well, the last film had loads of bizarre music choices throughout, the only alternative band who i could imagine sounding ok in a Twilight movie might be Modest Mouse.

I think it's one of those OST you barely hear actually played during the movie, with the "big song" playing during the ending credits (muse?)..
Something like that.
It happens even in good movies, sometimes you don't even realize what's on the OST till you read the tracklist, and sometimes OST are "music from and inspired by that-movie", which basically means "hey, even if you hate the movie or the main songs off the actual soundtrack, there's something more interesting in here we didn't even feature in the flick!".

What i wanna know is, who's picking this music? is David A Slade (the director) picking it?? I remember in New Moon thinking a couple of times wow, weird music choice there, almost as bad as the music choices and placements in Watchmen...
