Conformity Thought Paper-
-The first part of this assignment is to

A) engage in non-conforming behavior
B) engage in some sort of Conforming behavior

any suggestions ???

I remember something like this in my Psychology class. One suggestion was to face people in the elevator instead of facing the door. If that's not enough, look at them in the eyes while doing so.

absolutely- its for a Social Psych. class. The example you gave was perfect. Actually it was one that my instructor gave in class. Very simple.
i'm trying to write this paper. But i just can't think of anything - to "act in a non-conforming" behavior. I thought maybe this social forum would give me some ideas or examples, such as you did. The paper is due on Thursday. help my social psych sonic people.

i pride myself in being "non conforming". I think thats where the block comes in.

fuk looking like eveyone else, fuk doing what everybody else is doing. this is my life . i'm going to live my life the way i want to. Fuk conforming behavior i say.

By 'engaging' does it mean by performing an example of it and recording results / observations, or simply writing examples of it down?

For non-conforming behavior you can always write "Fuck this paper".

You can use examples of minorities expressing non-popularized views to the public. You can look into protest behavior at the latest G20 and black bloc. Or how about that guy that set himself on fire for animal rights-related issues?

Or on a smaller-scale how about people being excruciatingly loud in public washrooms?

The assignment is to perform (engage) both examples of non-conforming and conforming behavior.
The 2nd part of the assignments commands us to write a 4 page paper describing
a) your non-conforming behavior,how people reacted to it, and how you felt during and after your behavior, and
(b) your conforming behavior and how you felt in response.

At the school I was attending, there is also a pizza place underneath the main cafeteria where you could grab a slice sitting out under heat lamps and pay for it at the register. What I did, which was actually separate from the class, was take one of the slices and placed it in my pants pocket then purchased it.

could i get away with the "fuk this paper" ? i will contemplate it. Maybe get another opinion. ?? great idea. but.....
