when you steal things

do you do it stealthily and act suspicious?

there is a guy at my apartment complex coffee machine who clearly is a contractor here and has been standing there for about 15 minutes brewing about 20 coffees to put in his 'flask' which he keeps hiding behind the machine in case someone is looking?

He gave me evil looks before, because he saw that I was watching.

if you're going to steal shit just do it.

Well.. if it's coffee.. you know. I'm not sure he'd be made to give it back?>

ink. 12.06.2010 03:52 PM

he also just walked up and told me a crude joke.

he was missing one front tooth.

Oh christmas.

ink. 12.06.2010 03:54 PM

there is now a ranga on the tv singing happy christmas ( war is over ).

yeah.

honestly though I'd likely be living in a box if my mother hadn't helped me out to the tune of several thousand. The universe is kind.

I do my fair share of keeping it real. FYI my household furniture consists of a table a bed and some shelves. Honestly though it is quite zen and I'm not sure I want much else.

thanks so much for keeping it real for us all with your minimal interior design.

my building used to have free stuff, like a bench outside and trashcan in the entrance

if the trashcans get stolen within a couple days of being there i wonder how long a coffee machine could last

ann ashtray 12.07.2010 01:21 PM

With all the free coffee everywhere it hardly qualifies as stealing (I don't think...). Most office/apartment/hotel establishments offer it through the majority of the states.

I drink coffee on a near-daily basis. Often several cups a day. I doubt I actually paid for more than 10 cups this entire year.

The leasing office where I live keeps that shit stocked, as does my job. I'm in luck I guess.

Well, for starters it's way better than energy drinks.

For enders....I work odd hours and am often up for durations of time most couldn't endure. Coffee helps.

drink water, man. you'll endure a couple of days of headaches and then you'll sleep like a baby and be awake all day (or whenever you need to be awake). it's the high/crash cycle that keeps you hooked.

or do they mix up your hours? my bro in law used to be a journalist and he'd work at all kinds of weird freaking hours. so he was addicted to the evil bean. which is tasty, i admit. but now i ramble-- i'm listening to somebody else's phone convo and i can't focus. sorry mang.

...when I worked at sbux my hours varied from a 5.15am start to an 11.30pm finish, with a few overnighters thrown in.. and absolutely no regular schedule to try an adjust to (ie the 5am would be followed the next day by a late finish, and vice versa).... so I would drink a helluva lot of espresso.. it was 'free' mind, but also part of my wage IMHO.

my issues were mostly that

1. he was clearly trying to hide his mass consumption of the curtousy beverage for people that actually live there

2. he used all but one of the brew packets which meant no real consideration fr anyone else who may have wanted coffee.

I'm not sour, I had my own.. it just bothers me when people choose greed over sharing, it was just the way I was brought up..

if i was a labourer with missing teeth i probably wouldn't be too worried whether or not the fancy apartment building needed to buy more coffee

ink. 12.07.2010 02:14 PM

exactly so don't hide it!

it isn't so fancy though, but still..
