Arthur Lee RIP

Dammit.
Psychedelia is losing some true greats of late.

hat and bread 08.03.2006 10:57 PM

Everyneurotic 08.03.2006 11:08 PM

ohh shit!!! that fucking sucks!!!
he was truly a great songwriter and musician.

against_the_grain 08.03.2006 11:28 PM

Sad....

I had several friends who went to the recent Arthur Lee benefit concert at the Beacon Theatre...NYC a few weeks ago.....

Arthur Lee's band Love and the album Forever Changes is a great 60s psychedelia experience !!!....has soft spots too.....for tender tripping !

krastian 08.03.2006 11:36 PM

No shit....bummer. Doesn't get the credit/recognition he deserves.

dazedcola 08.04.2006 12:42 AM

this really is a sad day. I agree that Love dont nearly get the recognition they deserve. Lee and the band wrote some great songs and he'll really be missed.I get the feeling that board members will be asking who he is.

well he was the lead singer of a 60s folk/rock/psychedelic band called love. Their third record Forever changes is considered a pysch classic by many.

He will be remembered. R.I.P. Arthur.

Glice 08.04.2006 04:37 AM

Bollocks. And Balls. Although, in truth, he hasn't been up to much of note since the 60's. I'm going to dig out Da Capo. I haven't listened to the that in far too long.

jon boy 08.04.2006 04:39 AM

flippin bummer.

screamingskull 08.04.2006 11:54 AM

i went to see Love featuring Arthur Lee in 2002, it was pretty fantastic, its a shame he's died.

Rest In Peace Mr. Lee

a bummer in the summer alright. got to see him a few years back and it was great.

kingcoffee 08.04.2006 11:10 PM

Very unfortunate. He was fairly young too. Not even technically elderly.

the germs once opened for love in 1978.

Torn Curtain 08.12.2006 09:41 AM

I saw "Love with Arthur Lee" in 2004, they were awesome. One of my best concerts ever.
