Sonic Youth Remix releases
 

I have to admit, I don't have a very good collection of SY remixes on file. Covers, yeah. But not remixes, and I know there are many.

Any suggestions for where to find them and what to look for?

Do you mean "official" remixes of sy songs or songs remixed by sy members? I don't think there are that many overall :confused:

Either, man. I've seen a few dead links online for remix comps., but I've never gotten ahold of one, and am not sure if there are any in existence that are worth hearing.

thurston did a good job with Crystal Castles Celestica, I recall at least a couple of SY tracks remixed by Cracks...

Ha! Yeah, I know. Youtube's not lame... not THAT lame... but I was looking for something compiled that I could download and rock on mah iPhone :)

More specifically speaking, remixes of Sonic Youth songs, either by the band themselves or by other artists. As massive as my SY collection is, I have very little in the way of remixes. Jams, outtakes, live performances, b-sides, rarities, all in spades. But very few remixes.

Anyway. I just thought I'd put it out there.

It made me think about a remix of the album Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star that was also posted in Sonic Sharing several years ago.
The artist's website no longer works, but the download link is still good: ejstans by sog.tae, free download, 106mb.

back in the day I made a Sonic Youth x Jay-Z mashup album called The Grey(ish) Album. So yeah. White(y) Album x Black Album. But it was terrible. I think I ended up liking maybe 3 of the tracks out 14. It's in my attic somewhere, but I'm not sharing it haha. It's bad.

Yeah, I posted the link to the remix of I DREAMED A DREAM but I hadn't actually listened to it for years.

I pressed play about ten minutes ago and I can't stop listening to it.
