old woman smell

i'm not talking about the urine smell...

what is that smell that ladies who have blue hair have? it smells like baby powder or those fresheners you put in the dryer...but not exactly like either one...does anyone know what I mean? Imagine being at a pot luck and old ladies are serving fruit salad.

static-harmony 09.02.2006 01:59 AM

I don't know what it is,but a lot of old people have this weird smell.

I can imagine that years from now we will know EXACTLY what makes that smell, but not until then...one day we will see someone say "Here, try this" and it will make the old lady smell and we will nod.

IntoTheGroovey 09.02.2006 04:38 AM

Most old people I come across smell like a mixture of cinnamon and peppermint.

Tokolosh 09.02.2006 04:40 AM

Cheap hairspray mixed with baby powder and base for the face.

wax 09.02.2006 06:21 AM

im not familiar with it.
but does anyone ever smell that peppery smell on crusty hippies and select old ladies?

Toilet & Bowels 09.02.2006 08:33 AM

the other day i was on the train with some friends and some old lady got on and she smelt so badly of poo that we had to get off and move to another carriage.

Love your theads Daycare, they're always so surreal! I hope we do someday find the answer to this, society's greatest mystery! I have however made a personal observation. Old women who rock (sweet, gentle, cuddly) are not plagued by this smell as much as old women who do not rock (bitter, nasty, and a natural sway towards ultra right-wing politics). Most old people are awesome and i hope when I'm old I don't come under the latter, so the new-age SY fans don't make a thead about how much I smell of my Arse!!!

Cantankerous 09.02.2006 11:00 AM

it's some kind of perfume. i'm going to go to the department stores and smell every perfume available to see which one it is.

LOL! Let me know what you find.

Cantankerous 09.02.2006 11:12 AM

i can tell you exactly how they get their hair to be blue though, and why they do it (probably. i assume it's not out of vanity but old people are crazy, after all.)
i assume that most people wash their hair with tap water, which can yellow blonde or white hair. it's just like when you bleach your hair and it turns yellow, you have to put toner in it to take the yellow out. toner is sort of a lavender color and if you leave it in long enough it will turn your hair bluish.

My grandma tried to dye her hair brown/black but she fucked it up and it was purple. It was so funny.

Wow, how rock and roll. I've got an amp that smells like peppermints and sounds like a cardigan.
