Crap or Fact?

True or False:

Spike Jonze, the director of Being John Malkovich, is heir to the Spiegel catalog company fortune.

The estimated economic costs of alcohol abuse in the US in 1998 amounted to more than $180 billion.

I'll give you the answers when I get back from school.

Fact: Spike's real name is Adam Spiegel, son of Arthur Spiegel III, of the Spiegel catalog company. When his parents divorced, Spike began hanging out at a skateboard shop in Rockville, Maryland, where everyone called him Spike because he never washed his hair. The cofounder of legendary Dirty Magazine, Spike evolved a unique stree-hip style that caught the eye of MTV and ad agencies. He started making music videos and commercials, winning awards for his work with the Beastie Boys and Bjork before going on to make feature films such as Being John Malkovich and Adaptation.

Fact: In its 2000 report to congress, the US department of Health and Human Services, factored in the cost of health care, loss of productivity, and other expenses, such as alcohol-related traffic injuries, and came up with the staggering number of $184,636,000,000.
