Bloody hell! We haven't even been to the chrimbo one yet. Luckily for my bank balance it's curated by The Dirty Three so there's every chance that it mightn't be that interesting. Surely there'll be Smog and maybe Low...Nick Cave perhaps. Nice enough but not pant wettingly so.

Maybe I should shut my cakehole until the line up is actually revealed.

If Smog's there, Danny is.

EDIT: Oh wait, still not old enough. Fuck that.

Everyneurotic 10.16.2006 10:09 AM

cat power will be playing there too.

HaydenAsche 10.16.2006 10:12 AM

How old must you be to go to this?

If Low, D3, Smog and Cat Power are there I'll be there. I'd imagine Joanna will be there if Smog plays.

Will they ever do the ATP long beach again?

I don't know. Mr Ellis seems pretty well acquainted with the contemporary reportoire, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some Ukrainian fiddling, some contemporary avant-ish stuff, perhaps even something from the violin canon (Ellis doing Bach's partitas - I can dream), maybe some Conrad, as well as the nicer bits from modern pop (Low etc). It would be nice to see some of the more interesting 'world' music there, your Huun Huur Tus and the like, which I don't think is likely to be outside of Ellis' ambit.

"Hey, speculation, you're so fine/ you're so fine you blow my mind/ Hey speculation! Hey hey/ speculation! hey hey..."

If Low's coming, I'll be definately there! Best band in the entire universe. I dream eat sleep Low if I'm not listening to SY :D
And I hope Cat Power and Nick Cave will be there too .......
Thanks sonicl

Low are so good it scares me sometimes how much I love them, they could sing any song and make it great, whenever they play at the point where people shout requests some cad always calls for freebird or wonderwall as a joke, but imagine how awesome that would be, go on just picture it, its be ace.

Dirty Three will curate a good show and are worth seeing anytime. If The Bad Seeds play Im going fer sure.

Those are my opinions, happy now.

I think someone should make a list of bands that arent playing ATP
It would be a pretty short list

sonicl 10.18.2006 03:07 AM

Hopefully the next ATP after Dirty Three will be curated either by someone like Anticon or by Sugababes. That would be cool.

_slavo_ 10.18.2006 03:39 AM

Low is one of my favourite bands too. I wish I would go to ATP at least once in my life once in the future.
