Sonic Youth last ever show

If sy were going to play their last ever show would you want a party greatest hits set or a improv noise jam along the lines of syr7 or syr8?

I've been lucky enough to see them play a few times in the past but there is still a long list of their songs i haven't heard live which i would love to.

But at the same time the playing a greatest hits set doesn't really seem like the sort of thing sy should/would do. Some of the reasons i love them is their experimental side. The SYR series has blown me away and the noisier more abstract side of their music has changed the way i think about music and art.

but i really want to hear Sympathy for the Strawberry and Free City Rhymes and Rain on Tin. And Wild Flower Soul. And NYC Ghosts and FLowers. And Washing Machine. And Arthur Doyle. And Skip Tracer.
fuck

To me it would be totally same what SY will play. I haven´t seen them at all, so I would just be glad if I will have possibility to see them.

I'd like a Goodbye 20th Century type show, please - just to piss people off.

Lazewski 03.07.2012 11:08 AM

Lee beatboxing / Steve doing a bass beat with T spitting some ryhmes & Kim dancing in her Marilyn gear.

I don't know... I think a sort of sound collage would be nice. Like, some monstrous 3 hour jam session that included 8-10 extended versions of selectively picked songs.

I've seen them many times, but have also missed a lot of good tunes. For instance, I don't think I've ever seen them play Brave Men Run in person. Though my memory during some of those show might not be the most reliable thing in the world ;)

anyways. i'd be happy with them farting in the mics for 2 hours....helll if they can keep it up for that long, it'd be hella impressive.

Nice set list, but only one Lee song?

Pelle 03.11.2012 12:22 PM

I'd like to hear the full Murray Street and NYCG&F and then a 30 minute noise-eruption at the ending.

Then I would die as a happy man.

SonicBebs 03.11.2012 01:21 PM

That sounds lush

nicfit 03.14.2012 04:34 AM

2 hours of "Macbeth" with trippy noisy work/subtle rhythm changes/improvised vocals (if needed), 1 hour long "NYC Ghosts & Flowers" as encore.
