What Melt Banana Record Should I get Next ?
 

So I picked up and love scratch or stitch and speak sqeak creak. So does anyone have any suggestions of whats another great album or two to get next by them ?

Cactuses Come in Flocks is my favorite. That doesn't really means thats what you should pick up next. You really can't go wrong with any of them...

I would get CHARLIE. It's Melt Banana's transgression into more punk rock territory. I think that's my 2nd favorite after Scratch or Stitch.

cell-scape was an awesome album. if you can, you should try to get your hands on some of the 7"'s they've put out, b/c some of that stuff is really super mega badass awesome.

i really love the peel sessions, although they didnt release that so you should go download it.

on a personal note, what record of theirs is most similar to the peel sessions because id love to tap that shit...

13 hedgehogs is a compilation of their 7" and splits material

i know, but their more recent stuff isn't available on 13 hedgehogs. that's what i was talking about, more specifically.

a lot of what was on the peel sessions was on teeny shiny, and charlie. there were a few from scratch or stitch too, i think

Their Tzadik release, MxBx 1998 13,000 years at light velocity. Here is the Tzadik website . I'm surprised no one else has voted for this. It's my personal favourite, and it's inbetween that period where they didn't really know how to use a studio and when they learnt to use the studio to make the record more glossy... which is to say it's practically a live album. And it has better versions of songs from Cactuses...

I'll go with Cell-Scape.
