http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396171/

nicfit 11.06.2006 12:41 PM

Actually they already did.
It was in theathers a few weeks ago here in Itlay, and i refused to go and watch it.

static-harmony 11.06.2006 12:42 PM

Oh I saw a preview to it over here in the states, I might see it.

nicfit 11.06.2006 12:47 PM

Actually it looks quite interesting, but i love the book so much i couldn't help noticing even the slightest "imperfection", thus preventing me enjoying the "cinematic experience"...hope you understand what i mean...

ofcourse not. the films not as dark as the book and its got dustin hoffman in it!

I've never read the novel, but what caught my intrest is that its directed by the guy who did "Run Lola Run" and "The Princess and the Warrior", both of which I liked. I just saw a preview for it, and it looks appealing, and not having read the novel I don't have anything to compare the movie to.

the perfume is an exquisite novel. i don't know about film adaptations-- some are actually better than the original novels--- for example, "dr. strangelove".

pokkeherrie 11.06.2006 05:27 PM

the first time i read das parfum was about 12 years ago and it's still one of my favourite books... so i'm somewhat hessitant to go and see the movie, but i probably will at some point.

i saw the movie and in my opinion it's pretty the same quality level as the book = upper midfield.

You might find interesting that "scentless apprentice" by Nirvana is inspired by the protagonist of this novel/movie.
