The Residents did something similar with the recent River of Crime podcasts. You could get a pack of pre-printed cdrs with artwork etc. to burn the episodes off onto when you bought your subscription.

Not sure what the point of those Green Day ones are.

It'll just add to the millions of dollars Green Day makes by selling pens, notebooks, folders, wristbands, calendars, shoelaces, pins, belts, lighters, keychains, lanyards, ID cases, posters, books, belt buckles & other obnoxious merchandise to little girls and preteen boys.

What? A popular musician in a money-making scheme? In a time when the singles market is so very, very profitable? That's it, I'm calling Bono on them.

Green Day is amazing. They are the only band that is making music relevant to today's youth, and really the only band that matters. They deserve every penny they get from selling items like these! After all, they are the only ones making music that actually matters!! They are the equivalent of the Clash and the Ramones of our time. They will forever go down in history as one of the all time great rock and roll bands.
