Just saw Xiu Xiu (crappy pics included)
 

My local showspace had its final show and Xiu Xiu played along with Grouper and a few other acts. It was really cool although Xiu Xiu only played for about an hour. It was in this day care room at this church thats down the road from me (hence the wall of stuffed animals in the background in the pics). Anyways, good stuff. Anyone else see em this tour?

Here are some pictures, although they arent very good because my camera was almost out of batteries and was acting weird. Also I was in kind of a shitty spot for taking pictures in the first place. But here ya go.

I saw them when the played in Minneapolis. It was terrific but they only played 7 songs as their bus was late from Chicago and they had to be done by the time the next show started that night. Did you see Congs for Brums or the Dirty Projectors?

Those light-blue earplugs are soooo cute... i need to check them out asap, i saw an interesting video on tv the other day (the one with fake 16-bit-consolle-graphics, dunno the name of the song coz this "alternative music channel" only shows the bands'name )

Would you like me to upload a compilation of their best songs for the board? I was going to send it to Atari and AssBlaster but only Atari ever e-mailed me and I was waiting for AB to e-mail me. I'll do it later tonight when I get home.

Well, ver kind of you, i can't answer for all the board, but if you p.m. me the link to the uploaded goodies that would be a good starting point for me ( hopefully i'll have it downloaded soon by a friend with broadband..).

Yeah I saw them both. Congs for Brums was pretty cool for a one man project. Dirty Projectors were interesting for a few songs but their sound seemed to get kind of repetitive- not much variety in the different songs. And they played for almost as long as Xiu Xiu did so that was kind of annoying. I actually enjoyed Grouper the most out of the 3 openers...very pretty ambient sounds.
