MERZBOW- free merzbox sampler cd
 

when i was looking, drooling over the merzbox a few months back. the shop owner guy gave me this 5 track 30minute long sampler cd. it has 5 tracks from the boxset. small sampler i know but its free...... so here it is upped for anyone intrested, thought id do a separate thread for better highlighting the link thing job.............

excellent sampler. merzbow.. i've listened to the merzbox... now, i'm no expert, i've only heard about 80 of merzbow's releases, but i can tell you that the 50 cd's on the merzbow range the gamut from his worst shit to his best. so, yeah. there is a disc in there... 26? 27? there's some disc in there that was one of the best noise things i'd ever heard. maybe one of the best things i'd ever heard, period. the earlier discs seem really... wandering...

but yeah, i listened to the entire merzbow over the course of two weekends. so i listened one whole saturday and some of sunday and then waited a week and finished it the next weekend. reccomended! an endurance test, to be certain, but i'm the kind of guy who loads up all kinds of weird frequencies (approaching infrasound and ultrasound) just to see what kind of effects they have on me.

merzbow forever. i give him a lot of shit, because he is kind of ... well .. he's easy to make fun of ("oh, i hear there's a new merzbow release. haven't heard a new release by him in about an hour.").. i mean, the dude said in that interview one time, "i hate when people talk about me, especially on the internet." then, he posted a picture of himself on his official webpage (which has/had a message board) with a big MERZBOW shirt. haha. interesting dude. merzbow rules.

Ive seen a Merzbox in Sister Ray in London, mad thing it is. I wouldnt know where to start.

yeah, it's hard to say, i've heard the merzbox plus all the old ones that were reccomended on some faq i read on him (pulse demon, rainbow, etc.) plus some thing that was 4 cd's long plus other ones like sphere plus collabs like sun baked snow cave.. yeah, so doing a rough estimate in my head, i've heard around 80. but like landry said, that's not even approaching what he's done.

Dude, somethings wrong. Only one track works from it (assemblage). I open up the other tracks and theyre just little symbols and shit

i dont even have the sampler cd anymore cuz i gave it to a mate when i got the box. ill try to dig out something tho

no zip just separate mp3s, the right click is the key.....

Haha, didnt realize this thread was all the way from 2006. Hmm I downloaded it again and its the same.

what the file is still valid?? fucking hell.....

dont worry too much if the tabs are all fucked up, that could be simply a language thing...
ill try myself right now........

... i tried the file....

and all but track one dont seem to be in mp3 format, dunno why but they still play on my windows media player and i still can burn them all onto a cdr with my nero... so the files are ok they somehow got mislabeled in transit.....

i ripped and uploaded that file myself so the source is trustworthy i promise!
