if money isn't an object, forget about brooklyn and queens and just move to manhattan. you can suck it up and live in a studio and you won't spend half your time travelling into the city, since you're only here six months. i lived in london years ago for six months. i was so broke i ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day to subsidize my rent and cultural outings, but i lived in one of the best neighborhoods and it was well worth it to me.

here is a great site with all the no-fee apartments in the city. yes, a lot of them are doormen buildings, which sound expensive at first, but you won't be paying a month's rent to a realtor, which if you do the math can come out to a couple extra hundred a month. i prefer downtown, anything below 23rd street.

or you can always try craig's list and do the search on your own.

My sister moved to NYC when she turned 18, and I remember visiting her, it was a cool place where she lived I believe it was Astoria Queens.

Jico 11.20.2006 08:39 AM

see you there next year.

static-harmony 11.20.2006 10:45 AM

Fucking lucky bastard.

HaydenAsche 11.20.2006 10:46 AM

I would never want to live in New York. Have fun spending your parents money on pointless shit.

I must agree.

king_buzzo 11.20.2006 12:58 PM

yeah new york is too busy, jersey or someplace near ny i would like

fishmonkey 11.20.2006 01:11 PM

i've just been on holidays in NY, its a great place but living there.. would probably be the end of me, its so excessive my head would explode. i'm defo gonna go back though.

nicfit 11.20.2006 01:14 PM

Pretend you're going to NY and instead go live in a friend of yours' garage. Keep all the money your parents will give you without knowing you're just a few miles away and buy something great.

Have you never heard of independence? Try it some time. Pay for your own things, make your own through life. It may be harder but in the end it's better.

How old are you? 20? Jeez stop living out of your parents pocket.
