Getting Up Late for Work
 

How do you feel about it? I haven't been late for work in a while. When I have, it's always been a mess and risked the sack, which was fun. If you have stories about oversleeping share them here.

Is it too early (:)) for symbol guy to remind us that he's his own boss? Just checking.

I'm a good boy. I don't think I've ever been late for work.

have never been late at work..i ll say less than a handful of times during my 16 yrs of slavery.
one i remember in my first job. there was a transportation strike and i was stuck in my car waiting to enter parking area, for 2 hours just below my office.

why 'but'?

because im up early for the first time in a long time and it's dark and cold and it sucks to be out of bed

i just woke up like that for no reason. definitely not on purpose.

i had a dream that i was in college studying economics! and the cat is running around the house, the little bastard. i love him and all but he's a complete fucker.

I have been sick once in 6 years and told my boss the previous day, which makes me very angry about all the pregnancies we get in the building. Babies ruin economies and distract people. I am almost always on time if not early. When I'm late, I'm just feeling a bit la di da about life.

when im late it usually means i'm late delivering. this can be a pain in the ass, and to avoid it i've had to pull many all-nighters. i really can't just fill up a seat at work--- if i don't do work i simply don't eat. not eating sucks. also: late with the rent sucks shit. oh shit: pink bills. i hate them.

I feel humiliated when I am actually productive, instead of faking it very well.

dont wanna go off topic. BUTT.
i was in a sort of job interview and the guy said a couple of dodgy things:

'with this crisis the men survived, the boys no. we (his company) are the MEN'.
i was busy being surprised at what he said and trying to swallow my coffee vomit.


then he said smth about fb and life status etc. that your boss cant see you partying etc, he might fire you because of the life you lead in your own time.
'you can be a trans in the weekend and then be a suit during weekdays. or drink bottles of booze etc. but do your work' (ehm do you know me?)

yeah i said, no probs with that right?

see, im jealous of talented people like you.

it was quentin crisp i think that valued professions that required being over making.

e.g to be an actor, celebrity etc you get paid to be yourself and look amazing.

but to be a painter requires you to do actual work and get dirty in the process, to be a writer requires you to hold a bad posture for hours, etc.

unfortunately i lack the talent to be paid to be, and i have to make things. which is clearly inferior.

for free is dead.




(smth i say with my friends, because we dont have money or some much money anymore - even though we dont follow that line. we still do/give things for free).

I got asked a couple of times how I find the time to be creative outside of work. I find the time because it's precisely something I don't view as work, it's moments when I feel really happy about doing anything, I still wouldn't want it to be a full time thing though. The idea of full time creativity doesn't cut it with me because I am alright feeling anonymous without feeling like I am struggling artist. The friction I get from withdrawals makes me more driven and hateful of certain lifestyles.
