Practical Q&A

Exactly what it says.
Could somebody give us some tips on how to iron properly a pair of trousers that are made of wool and 10% polyamid nylon?

Thanks

hmmm... i would iron them in the nylon setting and if you can, use steam

or else drop them by the dry cleaners & ask for press only

The two things I was going to say. Especially the second tip.

I would also add that I always iron my trousers inside out to avoid the inevitable shine which results over time.

I don't well off to work three minutes to get there.

Better always hang them upside down when you take them off, put them in the bathroom while you are having a shower, so that the vapor makes the wrinkles straight. And if you really need to iron them lay the iron on a wet piece of fabric rather than directly on the pants.

Shirts are better ironed the inside out first, because a very hot iron spoils the fabrics, and finally you can refine the work from the outside.

Excellent,Kegmama. Thanks, that's the sort of answer that i was after.I've already repped you for tonight but i would again if i could.

I usually just hang the item(s) in the bathroom and steam it up really well with the shower.

Ironing is fine if it gets you the job that you want.

Cantankerous 12.04.2006 09:02 PM

i don't even have an iron. take your pants to the dry cleaners, they'll press them for you.
