The video for 'Do You Believe in Rapture" is up for "Best 10 Videos of 2006" on MTV2 / Subterranean. It's a vote deal - here's the info on how to navigate the clunky MTV2 site if you want to help push it over the finish line:

go to: http://sub.mtv2.com/

Find and click on the "Vote" link. Scroll down to "Sonic Youth: Do You Believe in Rapture?"

Click on the black box to the right of the title.

Repeat until fed up.

The M2 site is kinda lame - crashes a lot on Mac (and you can't watch videos on Mac?!). Nonetheles...

Crashed me too. So much for that. I won't struggle to see a frigging MTV site, that's for sure.

Now there's an issue I'd like to see tackled on that ad.

I think Animal Collectives video for grass should win. That clip is like a happy version of the film 'Begotten' (don't ask, just find it and buy it)

Kind of ironic how these things work out. I'd bet without a doubt that Sonic Youth fans are probably way higher proportionately Mac users than the general populace. So the band has that stacked against them by this site.
