Lowbrow is the opposite of highbrow. It's all lines in the sand (ie, it doesn't mean a great deal) but 'highbrow' generally means things like opera, ballet (etc) whereas lowbrow would be things like bare-knuckle fighting or arguing on the internet.

Edit: I don't think Family Guy is lowbrow, but I'm not a post-modernist, all right?
