Headphones

Im in the market for some new headphones. I want them to be durable first and foremost, and id like them to keep the sound in as well. Has anyone any reccomendations?

depends what use and how much you are wanting to spend, and how much cut from outside noise you want, how much power you need.

there are really only two high quality headphone brands and they are sennheiser and beyerdynamic. i have beyerdynamic ones that i use for foh and monitor work but they are around the au$500 mark. they are great for drummers aswell for studio and live purposes.

hot damn $500? i have a pair of sony mdr v-- something somehing, monitor ones, very good & sturdy for around $100. yes they are not the best in the planet but reasonably good & good value.

those however give a "flat" response that displeases some people. for listening for pleasure you might want something else. besides sehhneiser i hear that also grado makes some really good models, not sure of numbers. etc-- but depends on how much $$ you wanna discharge.

aus $ are not US $ .
I love Sennheiser, but terminal pharmacy surely has better knowledge to help you choosing the better ones for fulfill your needs...

depends what you really want to use them for. I use sony monitoring headphones that I paid $75.00CAD for, but I use a pair of $15.00CAD flex headphones for casual listening so I don't wreck my monitering ones again. depends on your price range

Yeah, it really depends on how you're gonna use them. I've got a nice Bose pair for music, and listening at home. I use an old Fostex pair at work, for radio shit. Vocal audio seems to come through better in those ones. They sound real natural. Both are good brands though, and the Fostex are indestructable.

What about AKG ? Never used those.

for me akg don't make any good live cans, they do make reasonable studio cans but mostly are very open and not enough attenuation of outside noise.
