Gravitys Rainbow

has anyone read this? Cos i slogged through 50 pages and realised i had no idea why i was still reading it. It made no sense and it made me feel stupid.

does it have anything to do with tacky keyboards, retro clothing and wacky hairstyles?

no im talking about the book the song is named after. I sought the book on the back of the song (which i think is great by the by), but i didnt enjoy it.

I've read it. I like it. Don't worry though, you're in good company by not liking it. A friend of mine who is extremely smart (he's getting a PhD in Economics from MIT this spring) quit when he got to the part about the English candies shaped like hand grenades and mortar rounds. In my opinion, the book is well worth getting through. Others would tell you it's a complete waste of time. I love his novels, they're like little goldmine claims--you have to spend a little time digging for the nuggets, but when you get them you can go get drunk on bathtub gin and buy a bunch of Chinese whores in town. I'm reading his new book, Against the Day, right now. It has given me herpes.

Oh, here's a cool link. This guy did a painting for every page in GR:

Listen to Noumenal, he speaks the truth. Totally worth reading through them becuase, as already said, there are some bits that are amazing. I loved the bit about English sweets, I was laughing out loud I think.
