The Horn
What are some good pop-rock tracks that have a prominent horn part? I mean the "French" horn. All I can think of off the top of my head is For No One from Revolver.

The only thing i can think of now is that The Beach Boys always used a lot of horns... I'm sure they should have a song that features it prominent.

Yes, I guess that's a horn in God Only Knows. hmmm |
yes it is, but it's not really prominent.
Neil Young's 'After The Gold Rush'?
that's a good one... all i can think of now are carpenters songs.
The French Horn has definitely been used on some of David Sylvian's songs. Holger Czukay has played horn for him, amongst one or two others.
Isn't the solo on 'After The Gold Rush' a horn in the middle of the song?I'm thinking of a John Cale song.Lemmi think a little more.
Yes, After The Gold Rush is a great example. I'm listening to it now. There is no horn player credited on allmusic.com, but it is definitely a horn. No question.
Help me.John Cale makes beautiful use of the french horn on 'Paris 1919' but i can't think of a specific song right now.
The Neutral Milk Hotel I was thinking of is the title track from In An Aeroplane Over The Sea, but it's a flugelhorn or some shit, not a horn.
The Endless Plain Of Fortune? At the end of the song. That is one killer song.
I know the psychojazz part in the middle of the violent femmes 'Black Girls' features a french horn, among other uncommon instruments like Jaw Harps.
Why did I start this thread? I don't know, but maybe after enough tunes have been figured we can move onto another instrument. A mix would be cool.
Too late. The Boo Radleys's 'Lazarus' has horns on it too.

I'm pretty sure those are trumpets on "Lazarus".
Totally.I posted it because i knew but wasn't sure that someone would turn around and say that Da Radleys are crap or something.Good song but i've always prefered the remixes of it.
