SY Song of the Day!
Friday, Oct. 11th 2013
"Washing Machine" Thoughts: no idea why this song fit with the day. I was stressed and rigid and angry at school and work, and even had some doubts about long term career choices I've made--- but still, I had a hard time not dancing to the bouncy, jangly climax jam near the end :) Sooooo here's what I'm thinking: I almost never get to post anymore, but with a thread where all I have to do is list my fav Sonic Youth tune of the day, I will have no excuse not to at least make one post a day (if I miss days I'll figure it out.) So play along if ya want. Sy plays in my head as continuously and effortlessly as air enters my lungs when I'm sleeping so why the fuck not? :p |

Ok so I missed a week :)
Anyway last week was definitely full of EVOL Notably Tom Violence Today 10-19-13 autumn is in full bloom, so naturally Brave Men Run and Intro from Bad Moon Rising. I Love Her All The Time is creeping into my periphery |

I woke up to Anagrama on my iPod shuffle. Slept through it several times in fact. I found that it is my single most frequently played song in my iTunes library. Looking at the rest of the list (songs that I've played to death over the past year) it's amazing to me that this song, which I've been listening to for freaking years and years, still tops my list, no matter what the competition, but never sounds old, tired, boring or played out. I never thought I could name a favorite Sonic Youth song either, but statistics may have done it for me. Ah, science. |
