Nah, I just like films that entertain me, I don't rate films based on their importance, influence, star power, KEWL QUOTEZ, or anything else. Just flat-out how much they entertain me, cause me to think, etc.
Deep Cover is overlong gangland shit with annoying ass Jeff Goldblum. Too much Fishburne also. Made me feel uncomfortable. The ending was terrible. If it makes you feel better, I think King of New York is one of the greatest films of all time, if you're familiar with that film.
City of Industry is brilliant; bank heist turns into a revenge film, fast moving as fuck, and Keitel is amazing, as always. Keitel is my favorite actor, but I am not biased, I just find him entertaining when he's naked and doing drugs and throwing shit!
I don't have "crazy" tastes, I just watch a lot more movies than most people so I probably am not as impressed with things that impress other people. On the other hand, when a low key noir like City of Industry manages to impress me, visually and with its moodiness, and takes some chances with its material, it's extremely refreshing when it could have been just another crime flick.
