The whole night, predictably, was very enjoyable. Hanging out with such friendly, warm and talented people was extremely humbling. We ended up eating the tastiest sushi my friend prepared for the occasion inside the venue itself. The staff joined us and fun was had by all. There wasn't much of a conversation about music going on because both Otomo and Sachiko like their food, so that was the main topic all night. Sachiko especially has to be the most contagiously enthusiastic person making music I have ever met. I chatted to Otomo a bit towards the end of the night about gear and electronic devices, but the real scoop was finding out that childhood manga cartoon favourite Lady Oscar has been turned into a musical and the harsh copyright war over Candy Candy, another childhood favourite.
