I hate that date thing. I work with files all day, and have to go through dates and stuff and I'm never quite sure whether it's day/month or month/day. 99% of the time it's month/day, but then there will be the occasion where I see something like 25/6/03 and I get a bit worried about the whole system...

is correct. Only those from America are Americans. Those from South America are South Americans. Canadians, Americans, and Mexicans are North Americans. Americans are simply Americans. That is the term to refer to people from the U.S.A., not the Americas.
