^ Not sure if that's the "point" of them, you can do whatever you want with them... certainly, I've pretty much only used them as a substitute for "real" Drummers, but you can program beats real drummers can't play.

My main thing with machines in general is I don't like the idea of robots, so I will usually make things a bit off-beat or program an extra few hundred fills or so to make it seem more real.

It's weird to hear bands like The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division, and so on.. who have real drummers, but seem to make them intentionally seem to sound like drum machines..
