No, I just think that 'Is Bjork the last great pop innovator?' can only ever be the sort of thing people that don't really like pop would say. I'm not saying that Gwen Stefani is pop's John Cage, but... .well, she's been a lot more interesting in the last 10 years than Bjork has (to me at least) and has managed to shunt a few tunes in. I prefer Bjork, in most ways... but it's ridiculous to pre-suppose that pop is a spent force creatively, especially as Reynolds reference points all seem to be 30+ years old.
NB I'm not defending or exalting Stefani - I'm not bothered either way, was just a name at near-random.
