Face it. Soundbites are what the evening news reports want. They're not going to show the whole speech by anybody. A line that sums up a whole speech will suffice for them.
If careful, articulate speeches were reported correctly and reported with what the author had in mind then Obama wouldn't have to be fighting for another term so much as he is.
