Watching David Attenborough's Life In The Undergrowth and seeing the trials and tribulations of the small animals that live around us makes the idea of a universal morality seem so fucking stupid.
Whether it is infanticide, fratricide, patricide, wholesale slaughter, vicious painful parasitism, warfare, lies, etc., all animals engage in these things, and it is quite sad to see, but it is strange to be reminded how endemic straight up KILLING is in the world around us. Humans have the ability to self-control in ways that other animals simply cannot, or do not feel like doing.
BUt if some creator deity made all this stuff specifically, then that deity is a fucking evil, twisted, sadistic, murderous BITCH, and worshiping that deity is the height of stupidity.
