I disagree. Talent is the ability to play an instrument. Innovation is the ability to make it interesting. I much prefer innovation. Without it, music is boring as hell. But talent is talent. They worked hard for it, and should at least get credit for that. Or...at least some of them did. You can't just shrug off Petrucci like he isn't a talented musician, even if it's boring as hell.

Jack White is actually not that talented, when put up against the greats. But he's entertaining. I've never heard AC/DC play anything like The Nurse. He's an artist.
