Well... shit. I think both albums are incredible. They may be suffering a bit because of the overwhelming effect of recency > primacy in hip hop, which makes it hard for any album that isn't brand new or *not yet released* to hold the attention of listeners... But I still think Tetsuo & Youth was a triumph. Aside from some typical Lupe lyrical foibles, it is a really well thought out and well executed experiment.

And Joey's version of East Coast '90stalgia is definitely a win. I haven't listened to it as much as I thought I was going to, but every time I do I'm quite surprised at how well it all comes together. I do skip some tracks, though.

I think my list for 2015 is more or less the same, only with a few additions:
