Ok, I admit it. You're right.

But Sonic Youth isn't dad rock.

Also, I'm not sure I really do listen to things that kids would call dad rock. I almost never listen to rock of any kind. So forgive my nitpicking, but if it ain't rock, it ain't dad rock.

And sure, a lot of the "rock" I DO listen to (like... Unwound... Sebadoh... ??) is old enough to be dad rock. But that doesn't mean it is. I doubt most "kids today" know a goddamn thing about the music that's defined my life. They might call it dad rock, but that's because young people are fucking morons.
