I totally agree. G!BE did the same thing, only the result was way better than with the Pixies. Their last two albums were just fine — especially the first — but they both sounded like B-sides from Lift Yr Skinny Fists... which is not bad, but, y'know, we already have that album, so who the fuck needs more of the same?

As I've said, Tribe is now up there with Portishead on the "return" album hierarchy. P-head's Third is still the best reunion/extended hiatus-ending album ... ever, I think. But Tribe has done it, and it's fucking glorious.
