Yeah, I'm saying I think it's something Mary and Thurston have talked about it and acknowledged. Probably before "Sunday" was even recorded. Not saying it was a ripoff... like I said it was probably an homage. Intentional, and kind of *wink wink.*

But come on man. It's the same riff. The only difference I can hear is in the effects/mixing/production. Tonally, it sounds exactly the fucking same.

Open up Spotify or whatever you use and play the songs and reexamine whether you think it's a coincidence.
