the new cuban american generation is not so castro-obsessed, but still, the new generation doesn't vote as reliably as the old one, and winning florida is essential to win the electoral college in november.

I wasn't being 100% serious about the Castro/Cuban thing but yeah, the older generation still seems entrenched and continues to carry a lot of political weight. And if anything I'd say the up-coming generation, while less Castro-obsessed is hyper-aspirational, so have their own reason for rejecting anything that even vaguely smacks of socialism.
