Having a kid when you know for certain you are not long for this world is irresponsible. Certainly as irresponsible as it would be for someone like me, who absolutely abhors the mere thought of having children, to have them.
I don't see what "pride" there is to be had from deliberately procreating when you are that old. Just seems like a way to say "Look, everybody! I'm still a man!"
I refuse to honor that.
