See, if you continue treating music as if it's some kind of theorum which can be proved in some faux-geometric fashion, you're never going to appreciate good music. Honestly, there are some realms where you can provide ostensive proofs, but if you don't get the Shaggs you're never really going to get very far with this music lark. The Shaggs are the greatest example of being great in the history of music, that is probably the only proof you need.

Furthermore, there are a fair few books out there on them, and everyone ever who was any good loves them (and Zappa was a fan as well), so listen to people who know, that's probably best.
