It depends on who they are...how many pivotal members are still together...etc.

Some are burnt out...physically not as adept...voices shot...whatever.

But NOT ALL !!! Old jazzers are still good...some of the old bluesers too....Seems the old rockers have spent a little more of their talents out...and can't 'hit the high notes' anymore.

Some music is timeless and can be presented well by aged musicians, whereas some is stuck in the youthful rebellion that when presented presently, is such a farce.

I just saw the original James Gang. They were excellent. They didn't come out headbanging, pretending to be 21...they're 60..but played so well, competently and with force. The sound and playing ability was as it was in the early 70s....I was amazed. And I saw them back in '72 too...so I can speak with first hand experience on that. Now when I saw the original Black Sabbath...Ozzy, Geezer, Iommi and Ward...they were great too !! But Ozzy was ragged as hell....but I'd rather a ragged Ozzy..(still had the tone, if not the pitch)...than an IMPOSTER !!

Old jazzers I've seen have for the most part maintained their musical integrity..and in some cases...are even BETTER with their age...than 30 years ago...

So it just depends...

Some bands lose ONE member...and they'll never be the same again...whereas...some bands...have ONE original, and somehow CAN attain the integrity of the old music....just depends....
