We all have our advantages and disadvantages.
I never ask my parents for money, but there have been a few times where they have made a generous offer and I have accepted.
I am glad to have gotten where I am (humble as it is) under my own steam though. When I had my parents out to the studio once, they both remarked on how impressed they were that I kept up with music so fervently for so long when there wasn't much financial return coming from it.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being a rich kid (none of us can help who we are born to; I was in a band with a guy who came from money and he was and is one of the best friends I've ever had), but there can be problems with how one is perceived based on how gracefully one handles one's given set of advantages.
