Lou Reed has been studying it for over 20 years, and as the article points out, his teacher is Master Ren. On the Charlie Rose show a couple of years ago, Lou talked a bit about Tai Chi.

Even if beer bottles were allowed as a weapon for Dennis (reportedly his blunt instrument of choice on several occasions), he still would be beaten...in a few seconds.

Hopper would have to be mighty hopped-up not to go down easily (like a lamb) with a judo move or two.

I mean, do you not think that a police officer could take Dennis Hopper down?
Maybe it would have been no short order in Hopper's heyday, but nowadays(?)...get real.
