Since The Velvet Underground virus has been going around recently,let's talk Warhol movies.His career as a(mostly non) film director can be identified in three phases:
1)The 'underground years'.
2)The 'Paul Morrisey years',which also happen to be less 'underground'.
3)The 'commercial years' aka the Hughes/Colacello phase.
In the first category i'll put 'Sleep',one of the most romantic of his movies as the inspiration came from Warhol's permanent lack of sleep being spent watching his then lover John Giorno sleeping (something that he was well aquainted doing,being a rather depressive type) and consequent filming.
