i dont believe he would have considered himself a communist but the US would certainly have (since the US was always worried about foreign ideas-ie. Palmer Raids, Sacco and Vanzetti). his belief in no god, no divisons or class,(that these steps would lead to peace, hunger, etc.) would certainly agree with communism
