No that's mainly reffering to the fans that got into Nirvana due to radio and listen to the bands that imitated and copied them, and think that Nirvana CREATED indie rock altogether, and completely ignore the bands that inspired Nirvana in the first place (ie the Wipers, Husker Du, Beat Happening etc)
