He visited Richmond the other night for a big fundraiser. I saw it on the news.
Strangely enough, someone from his campaign headquarters ordered some things from me today. I spoke with her on the phone afterwards because it was necessary to clarify some aspects of what they were ordering and we talked for a moment about politics and Senator Obama's candidacy. I went ahead and called (what could have been a bit early) even though it's not even nine in the morning in Chicago just now and she answered the phone on the first ring. Refreshingly, she sounded just like a normal person and seemed actually surprised when I initated the chit-chat about politics. One thing she said sticks out: "he's a real advocate for the people." I was most enthralled though with her agreement that "Warner" (John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 H.R.5122...passed 10/17/06) is the most pressing issue in need of addressing.
