Alas, like many of these things, it seems that it's not so mysterious if you look into it. The guy who claimed to have discovered it bought it at an auction in the 40's or thereabouts and the guy who had it analysed in the 70's seems like a total crystal skull loon. It seems most of these Crystal skulls were made in Germany around the mid to late 19th Century...
