your employer could look at the company's firewall and find out what kind of websites you're visiting while at work, and drop in to snoop.

they could then identify you by name and/or photo, and find out what drugs you take, if you like it up the ass, or even if you think your boss is a fucking asshole (which, if he's snooping on you, he certainly is). then decide to give you a "random" piss test, or make up a reason to fire you.

this is of course one possible scenario out of many.

i'm in favor of strong privacy laws, because ultimately they are anti-discrimination laws, and i think that carelessly giving away identifiable private information on the internet is foolish and bound to eventually bite you in the ass.
