i use this nivea stuff, some lotion to clean the skin and a cream to hydrate..

boiling some water and keeping your face in the steam opens the pores, which makes it easier to pop zits or just clean your skin.

i once heard it helps to put a tiny bit of toothpaste on a zit before you go to sleep, it will still be red but not as swollen. baby powder helps too, it calms your skin down and makes it less red. i haven't tried the toothpaste yet (the stuff seems to dehydrating to me) but the baby powder works fine.
