Well now I don't get anybody anything, and I don't go anywhere to get anything. It's crazy how much time I wasted in my twenties getting myself and others wasted, but it was fun.
It did make me quite the butterfly. Girls that went out with me would always remark on how I seemed to know everyone. I usually never paid for drinks or much else. I freely flitted about between the professionals, the bar owners, the natives, the townies, the frats, the regular students and all the rest.
In a big way it was me trying to keep up with some wealthy Joneses. Fuck all that.
